45th Annual Tangerine Invitational Winter Nationals

The Finishline Quarter Midget (QM) School started in April of 2002 to meet the
growing needs of qualified instruction in the sport of QM racing. A number of
FinishLine graduates competed in the 45th Annual Tangerine Invitational Winter
Nationals held in Apopka, FL. This year's event boasted over 310 entries
with drivers attending from all over the country. They say when you win at the
Tangerine Invitational Winter Nationals you are competing against the best
competition in the country.
The event schedule was a day of qualifying, which was held on December 27, 2003,
with the next two days devoted to heat races. Points are awarded for all the
finishes with the final lineup for the features being determined by an average
of points earned. The final features were run on Tuesday, December 30, 2003.

Two Finishline QM Drivers raced all the way into the A Main, which is the
Grand Finale race of the event.
Tim (The Timidator) Sozio worked his way through traffic to WIN the
Junior Novice Division!
Cole Fletcher started the A Main last after having a shock fall off in
one of the qualifying races and the car broke again in the 2nd qualifying race,
but Cole came out strong in the A Main passing the lead car on the back
straightaway in the last lap to WIN the Senior Novice Division!
Corey Drier finished a strong 3rd in the Junior Honda Division!
Our other Junior Honda, Senior Honda, and GX 160 drivers put up a valiant
struggle and were up against some fierce competition but unfortunately did not
fare as well.
Prior to the 45th Annual Tangerine Invitational Winter Nationals Mid Florida QMA
ran a 3 Race Series run on October 24, November 14, and December 5, 2003 at Lil
New Smyrna Speedway. Three FinishLine Graduates took home Championship trophies
- Tim Sozio of Debary for the Junior Novice Division, Cole Fletcher of Orlando
in the Senior Novice Division and Corey Drier of Sanford in the Junior Honda
Division!
Also competing in the 3 Race Series Junior Honda Division were Thomas Warnick of
Ormond Beach - 4th, Critter Saile of Casselberry - 7th, Lane Laughlin of New
Smyrna Beach - 8th, and Coby Rolston of Debary - 12th. Zack Donatti of New
Smyrna Beach finished 6th in the Senior Honda Division and 2nd in the GX160
Division. Dustin Toliver of Daytona Beach, FL finished 10th in the Senior Honda
Division.
The FinishLine manufactures winners, from Winston Cup to Quarter Midgets!
